Mission
The University of A Coruña aims to contribute to the cultural, social and economic advancement of society through the generation, management and dissemination of culture and scientific, technological and professional knowledge. The University of A Coruña conceives its mission as a public, Galician and quality service.
Part of the mission of the University of A Coruña is to train an open, educated, critical, committed, democratic, cooperative and supportive citizenry, capable of analyzing reality, diagnosing problems, formulating and implementing solutions based on knowledge and oriented towards the common good.
The functions of the university at the service of society are:
- The creation, development, transmission and criticism of science, technology and culture.
- Preparation for the exercise of professional activities that require the application of scientific and artistic methods and knowledge.
- The dissemination, valorization and transfer of knowledge at the service of culture, quality of life and economic development.
- The dissemination of knowledge and culture through university extension and lifelong learning.
Vision
On the horizon of the year 2020, the UDC aspires to be:

- A university that promotes the creation and development of state and international networks of basic and applied research groups that contribute to scientific, technological, economic and social progress.
